Alcohol Delineated

When I do drawings of boozers and drunk it has to be with care. I use contour lines to draft up the figures in the alcoholic scene. Most of these kinds of scenes take place in gay bars. It is easy to outline the booze bottles and glasses. However, it is more difficult to draw the alcoholics while they are in a drunken stupor. In the drawing above it is a lot easier to draw because the cute young man is sitting and looking rather than moving around.

Movement is the most difficult part of drawing alcohol drinkers at bars because they change their position often. Looking at the drawing above you can see that it is done mostly with contour lines. There are some hatched lines to have shade and shadows to the young booze drinker. Underneath his ball cap there are a series of hatch lines as well as on his chest and pecs. People who drink booze are easy to talk to and ask to be made a model for drawing. Most of the time when I ask a booze drinker to do a sketch they agree. Booze drinkers feel honored when I draw. Alcohol drinker are usually happy when I ask to draw them becasue it makes them feel handsome and young. When I am sketching people in a bar I usually work with pencils because pen & ink is not suitable for traveling around.
